Fuu by Bret Denslow Ascot summons a creature which attacks Hikaru and Fuu. Hikaru defeats the first creature with Blazing Arrow, but Ascot summons a creature under the Fire element. They look at Umi, realizing that she is the only one that can effectively fight the second creature.... but get hurt. Umi is asked by Selece to show the strength of her Heart that makes her worthy of being a Magic Knight.... and turns around to see the other two injured. She defeats the flood of creatures with Water Dragon, and with Sapphire Waterspout. She misses a couple, and they head towards her.... when she hears a familiar voice. Fuu casts Guarding Wind (Mamori no Kaze) and Hikaru casts Scarlet Lightning to defeat the monster. But, the girls fall unconscious. Umi, while defending herself with her spells, walks up to Ascot and demands an apology. Ascot cries that she was hurting his friends, and she returns the comment with a slap, demanding why he is making his friends acting like mosters. Umi listens to Ascot's story and learns that he was helping Zagato in search of a place where he and his creatures could live in peace—because the general population was scared of the creatures. Umi tells him that he should be proud of them—if he isn't, then his friends would really become bad guys. Caldina, by Simone Chassereau Selece acknowledges Umi's strength and disappears into the body armor, saying that he will return when Umi is strong enough to wear him (as a mecha). All three guards and swords undergo another upgrade. The girls climb back into Mokona's flying machine and soars high into the clouds... to the mountain in the sky. Fuu falls into a trance and disappears into the Wind Shrine. Umi and Hikaru land at the entrance, to be greeted by Caldina. The scene moves to Fuu being greeted by Windam, who asks her to prove to him about the strength of her Heart. At this moment, Umi and Hikaru enter the room and starts to attack Fuu. Fuu evades the attacks, and Caldina comes out into the open and introduces herself. Caldina explains that she was hired by Zagato for money.... and so she has to kill the Magic Knights. Fuu evades further attacks from the other two Knights, and binds them in a whirlwind with Winds of Reprimand (Imashime no Kaze). Caldina then changes plans—she puts Fuu under her illusionary spell to make her attack Hikaru and Umi. Caldina tells Fuu to kill the other two Knights with her magic, and Fuu casts Jade Gale..... on Caldina. Caldina wonders how her illusion was broken, and Fuu explains that she waswilling to risk her life for the sake of Hikaru and Umi. Zagato, by Ashely/FuuMKR Caldina laughs and wishes them the best—leaving Fuu with one quote: that Zagato had previously said that he has "something that was more important than Cephiro".... and Windam acknowledges Fuu's strength. Another upgrade for the sword and armor. Meanwhile, Emeraude prays that the magic Knights make it to her place before it becomes too late..... and Zagato tells her that he will not stop... that he cannot change his mind. He brainwashes Emeraude's chief bodyguard Lafarga, and sends him to kill the Knights. Going back to the main plot, the girls have arrived in front of the last shrine—the Fire Shrine at the volcano. The girls chat for a while in front of the volcano, and realize that the weapons were created only for the bearer—Fuu's now ultralong sword is light for her but extremely heavy for others, while Umi's sword turns into water for anyone else. Hikaru falls into her trance, and meets the last Mashin—Rayerath. Rayearth asks Hikaru to prove to him her strength, and floats outside. Hikaru follows, and is greeted with two injured bodies—Fuu and Umi... and Lafarga. She enteres a one-on-one swordfight, and gets hurt protecting the injured Knights. Rayearth tells her to forget about Fuu and Umi, and to fight for herself. Hikaru refuses, swearing that she will save her friends. Hikaru falls into an unfavorable situation, and Umi tries to help with her Water Dragon—but the spell is blocked by Rayearth. Lafarga forces Hikaru down onto the ground, and reaches for her sword to kill her—when he is suddenly engulfed into flames. Hikaru's sword produces fire when held by any other person. The fire breaks the brainwashing spell cast upon Lafarga... and the girls undergo their final equipment upgrade. The three Mashins recognize that the Knights are ready to fight with them. Emeraude by Simone Chassereau The girls enter the Mashins, and fly away into the sky. As they fly higher and higher, they realize that the sky was actually a mirror image of the vast ocean... and uses their level 2 spells to break the mirror. They are received by Zagato and his Mashin on the other side. Emeraude starts to show a change for the more painful as she watches the battle between Zagato and the Knights. The girls fall injured, but get back up. Zagato questions why Emeraude has to sacrifice herlself for the wellbeing of everyone else in Cephiro.... but the girls, determined to win, cast Spiral Flash (Hikari no Rasen) together and defeat Zagato. He dies, wishing for Emeraude's freedom. Emeraude starts to change shape, stricken with grief. The Knights, happy that they have saved Emeraude, enter the castle.... and are greeted by a woman. Emeraude. The now adult Emeraude, in tears that the Knights killed her "beloved" Zagato, attacks the girls. The girls escape from the crumbling castle, followed by Emeraude. Hikaru, Umi, and Fuu by Axel The Princess finds Zagato's sword and picks it up—to kill the girls with it. The girls fight with doubt, wondering why they are fighting the princess.... when they hear the voice they heard in Eterna. The princess explains that the Pillar must continuously wish for Cephiro's future... but because she fell in love with Zagato, she could no longer uphold Cephiro's peace and order. She tried to forget about him by imprisoning herself, but she failed... and had to summon the Magic Knights to kill her. Emeraude's voice pleads to the Knights to kill her, while the current Emeraude attacks with a vengeance. Strucken with grief, the Knights stand up—their Mashins combining into one—and stabs Emeraude's heart with their sword. Emeraude dies engulfed in lisht, happy that she is finally Zagato's..... and the light dies down to show the familiar observation deck of the Tokyo Tower. The three Knights are huddled and in tears, saying that what just happened can't be true.
